The Finance Minister should treat all tax-payersequally. There should not be two Income-tax exemptionlimits, one for men and a higher one for women. All are equal before the law. As men have more financial obligations, it is men who really deserve a higher exemption limit. The Finance Minister should allocate moreresources for the education sector. Education expensesare not consumption expenditure. It is really a long-terminvestment as it enhances human capital formation. TheGovernment should start more medical colleges. Thecountry requires 1,00,000 more doctors every year whereas only 33,000 new doctors are created each year. ]

Income is income irrespective of its source. TheFM should tax agricultural income also. A farmer in Punjabwho has an annual income of Rs.5,00,000 need not pay any tax while a salay earner whose annual salary isRs.3,00,000 has to pay income-tax.This discrimination should be stopped.
