R.Sriraghavan, Thiruvananthapuram

Many a concession in the name of concession ends in a mirage concession. Concessions do trickle in only to be swept away swiftly through concomitant doses of multiple taxes under different heads and the result bereft of benefits. I am of the firm opinion that instead of offering a variety of exemptions, the salaried class maybe be totally exempted from the payment of income tax and in lieu of that the salaried class people may not be shown any subsidy concessions available in petrol, kerosene, cooking gas etc.

A separate mechanism may be introduced to study the feasibility of implementing this and an expert panel may also be constituted. Thereby, the Government not at all losses any revenue,in fact, the Government can save lots of money by implementing this.I feel the subsidies are nothing at the practical training to ever remain on clutches looking for more and also yearning for additional commiseration from the Government. I am of the firm view:Do away with the subsidies, consider total lifting of income tax ,even slab rates who know not suppression of income. By total lifting of of income tax "AAM ADMI" approach and fulfil poll promises too. I immensely thank the "BUSINESS LINE" for the unique opportunity offered to me for ventilating my views lingering so long in me.
