It is a great anamoly and a matter Of serious concern that IT Department considers a senior citizen at the age of 65 years whereas everywhere else a senior citizen is recognised at the age of 60 years. All the banks, railways, Post Office etc. regard the age of 60 years as a person to be Senior Citizen. We got super-annuated from the services of a Govt. of India Undertaking at the age of 58 years , but IT Departmentstill does NOT give us the benefit of being a Senior Citizen.
May we humbly request our Honourable Finance Minister to review this age anomoly and give us our legitimate right of being a senior citizen at the right age of 60 years.
