What I d like from the budget-
Though there are many changes required to help India grow not just in GDP terms but in terms of quality of life and availability of services I m stating a few here.
1. Agricultural sector. I would like to see the government take immediate steps to increase crop yield, provide more incentives to the farmer (not only in the form of subsidies)to adopt best practices in the field. Increasing crop yield helps the farmer earn more for the same amount of land available to him/ her. It also helps tackle the huge food inflation and shortage the country faces today. It will also have a cascading effect on other sectors like auto, FMCG, etc. What better way to sustain the growth momentum witnessed 2 years back?
2. Accountability and transparency from the politicians. Every minister should be made to reveal how he spends money given to him for various socio economic projects. Why is that we have such good accounting rules, regulations and guidelines for our corporates but not for the people who can make the biggest difference to the quality of life for each and every citizen?
3. Better health care facilities and schools for the underpriviledged. Providing many more incentives to the private sector to participate in the development of these areas will ensure bigger CSR spends.

I m a student of Millennium Mams,a voluntary organisation that is trying to empower women through awareness and knowledge. Our course material is the unfolding news in the field of economics and politics.
