No excise duty in mattress.
Expect GTS to come this budget
Expect drop in excise duty in foam from 8% to 4% which will enable foam manufacturer to compete in an environment where excise duty evasion will be avoided.
Textile
Cotton prices have been increasing and because of recession the global market have hindered the export business. “I am sure Finance minister will not re-look the export benefits given for companies because of slight improvement in the economy last month (January 2010) in India. The production has been appreciably high as compared to any month of the last year (2009)”.
“Personally I feel FBT (Fringe benefit tax) was withdrawn during last year but it was transferred to individual, all executives have paid huge taxes during this quarter of January-March 2010 as the bills have been passed during the end of last year. I expect clarity in expression during budget especially in the case of salary class executives”.
