1. There should be only one Tax on the manufacturing activity, now Excise Duty and Sales Tax and other cess(s) are being charged.
Whereas the manufacturer is producing the goods for Distribution and only in the next distributor’s segment it normally becomes Sale to the Retail and only then the Sales Tax should be charged/payable on uniform basis whatever name it is being called viz.LST/CST/GST.
It will avoid the double Taxation burden and the goods will be available on reasonable prices.
2.All types of Cess(s) should be abolished as these are also extra burden in terms of smooth working too. As we have not observed any major education improvement in our districts, I also suggest that the collected amount on Ed. Cess & etc should be distributed on the concerned District level for practical advancement and accomplishments.
To simplify the Taxation the Slabs should be minimized and the Rates too.So it makes the Budgeting and Policies simplified really in longterm as every government is talking about.Accordingly the major policies should not be changed at least upto 3 years.
3.The Exemption limit for the Salaried people should be enhanced to Rs.5 Lacs as they are already charged the above mentioned Taxes; the Excise and S.T.etc.on the purchases made by them but they are getting no Input Credit? So the Finance Minister is specially requested to do the practical changes in real terms for the real growth of the country.
