Straight to the point, I strongly believe that if digital counters (the counters that show how long a person should wait for green signal ) are installed and maintained in all the traffic signal points, we can train them (our citizen) to switch off their vehicle engine till they have their green signal. This will help us reduce pollution. For example in Coimbatore there are signal points where we need to wait for more than a minute to get green signal. In such signal points, it will be helpful for us if we know how long we may need to wait for green signal and thus we can decide on switching off our vehicle engine. Though educating people on this method of reducing pollution takes time, it is possible. Advertisements will help us to achieve it. Also conducting Ad contest, print Ad contest, Banner design contest to college students on this issue will create awareness to public and to the college students as well. So I request you to allocate a part of budget to spend on installation and maintenance of digital counters in all the signal points
